#53 – Kananaskis Falls

#53 – Kananaskis Falls

Sept 17, 2017 – After a quick stop at Lower Spray Falls (see previous post) we headed to the last waterfall of our trip – Kananaskis Falls. This one has pretty much become Seebe Dam which is very easy to find… From Lower Spray Falls it’s about 15 min away, going right (NE) on Hwy 1 and then going left (N) on Hwy 1X (just before Hwy 40).  A couple km up on Hwy 1X and you’ll cross the Bow River.  You’ll be able to…

Sept 17, 2017 – After a couple waterfalls the day before it was time to head home, but there were a couple more we planned to hit on the way back.  First on the list was Lower Spray Falls. Sept 16, 2017 – With time to spare after Troll Falls, we ventured to the Kananaskis Lakes to look for Sarrail Falls. From Troll Falls it’s about a 30-40 min drive… Once you get back to Hwy 40 turn right (south) and go about 26 km down to Kananaskis Lakes Trail (you turn right to get on it).  There are signs along the way; keep aimed for the Kananaskis Lakes Trail/Upper Kananaskis Lake… You’ll have to go to the end, past…

#50 – Troll Falls

#50 – Troll Falls

Sept 16, 2017 – After going a few months without seeing a waterfall, we decided to venture down to the Kananaskis area before it snowed.  Our first target was Troll Falls. Getting to Troll Falls is quite easy; Google Maps gives directions right to the “Troll Falls trailhead”.  I’ll describe the route anyway and reference from Calgary as that’s the closest main city… As you can see it’s about the total of an hour from Calgary, driving west on Hwy 1 and then…
