#19 to #26 – Beauty Creek Falls 1-7 & Stanley Falls

Oct 1st, 2016 – After conquering Woolley Creek Falls (http://albertawaterfallchasers.com/2016/10/16/17-kitchener-creek-falls-and-18-woolley-creek-falls/) we headed up the road to our final destination:  the set of Beauty Creek Falls.  It’s an amazing stretch of non-commercialized back to back waterfalls in a short distance of about a km. Here’s an overview from Woolley Creek Falls… As you can see it’s about 2 km up the highway (N, towards Jasper).  There’s Beauty Creek Falls 1-7, Stanley Falls, then the final Beauty Creek Falls further upstream.  With…

#17 – Kitchener Creek Falls and #18 – Woolley Creek Falls

Oct 1st, 2016 – After conquering Tangle Falls (http://albertawaterfallchasers.com/2016/10/16/16-tangle-falls/) we went back north on Hwy 93 (towards Jasper) in search of Kitchener Creek Falls and Woolley Creek Falls.  They were supposed to be just off the highway, and we hoped they’d be at least visible enough for us to mark them off our list. First came Kitchener Creek Falls on our left-hand side (SW).  Here’s the Google Earth view from Tangle… You can see a little turnoff where you can…

#16 – Tangle Falls

Oct 1st, 2016 – After conquering Lower Tangle Falls (http://albertawaterfallchasers.com/2016/10/15/15-lower-tangle-falls/) we made it up the cliff to the parking lot to go take some pics of Tangle Falls.  The sky had sort of cleared so our plan worked.  Here’s the parking lot as you come up… And here’s at the end of the first parking lot where you can already see Tangle Falls in the background… Here’s a pic of Tangle Creek coming from Tangle Falls under the Hwy… And…

#15 – Lower Tangle Falls

Oct 1st, 2016 – It was scheduled to be a rainy weekend, but we had been away from the mountains too long.  Dana, her kids & I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Hinton (had pool for the kids) so we could wake up and have an easier Saturday drive in which we’d see 12 waterfalls.  The first one was Lower Tangle Falls. Here’s an overview from Hinton… Here’s a zoomed in pic of going around Jasper like they suggest,…

#14 – Punchbowl Falls

#14 – Punchbowl Falls

Aug 21st, 2016 – After yesterday’s excursion ending with Lower Sunwapta Falls (see last post – http://albertawaterfallchasers.com/2016/10/04/13-lower-sunwapta-falls/ ) we packed things up and left Wapiti campground by 10am.  On the way home we thought we’d hit Punchbowl Falls. Here’s an overview map of how to get there… As you can see you just go right (N) on 93, then turn right (NE) on 16, pass Talbot Lake, then turn right (SE) on Miett Rd/275A.  You should see the Pocahontas Cabins at that intersection.  Within a couple minutes you’ll see…

#13 – Lower Sunwapta Falls

Aug 20th, 2016 – From Sunwapta Falls (see last post http://albertawaterfallchasers.com/2016/09/30/12-sunwapta-falls-athabasca-falls-re-visited/ ) we headed downstream to Lower Sunwapta Falls.  Here’s an overview… From the original parking lot, as you go down there was a trail going to the right (SW) and that’s the one to take to get to Lower Sunwapta (so from the Sunwapta viewpoint/bridge walk towards the parking lot and turn left on the trail).  Sunwapta itself is usually very crowded, but there aren’t many who venture down to the lower…
